Well, first order of business is a giant HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my fabulous sister-in-law. She's gorgeous, she's fun, she's a great mom of three beautiful and talented children, and she's started a Realtor gig and is kicking BOOTIE. What can I say, she's got it GOING ON! Happy Birthday, and here's to your best year ever!!

Then, darkness begins to fall. In the comfort of her room, mundane searching becomes jagged groping. Desperate fear grips her as she begins to scream at her loss. Where!! Where!! Oh, where could it be!! All is lost and the black hole of despair will soon suck her rigid and lonely body down into its nothingness!!
Oh. Here it is.
Then we start again with the second of TWELVE items.
Welcome to Bee's bedtime routine. She has twelve items she must have touching her body before she can even THINK about relaxing into sleep. Then when all TWELVE items are accounted for, we revisit some just for grins. Then we move on to the bedtime classic of the ages, the bedtime story. Oh, beautiful vision, parent and child bonding closely and quietly over a good read. A moment of beauty. An iconic image. Bee's version of this is to hold Goodnight Moon in tight grip and scream a scream so loud that your eyes close in primal protection, "Whas' THAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Very akin to the popular beer commercial, "Whas' UP!!" Only much, much louder. We . . . discuss these things she must know, then, off to slumber. To dream very, very loud dreams.
I admit to you that years from now I will have this routine playing in my head when her father and I give her away to her loving husband (we'll call him 'sucker') on her wedding day. And I will laugh through my tears. Kind of like every night when I put her to bed.
Here are her bed compadres.

Did you notice the BEAUTIFUL wood grain of the table the above items are standing on?? I'm sure you are thinking to yourself, "That's one beautiful table Elmo's dancing on." Well, our new furniture arrived yesterday!! Yeahh!! JD and I are so the grown-ups now. It looks great. Welcome to the family, coffee table, media cabinet, and two bookshelves. We wish you many dust free years with us.
Here 'tis.
